Don't feel that I don't appreciate your input, I do. We all write things in a heat of the moment, I know I have. It is true that we have discussed behavioral issues in public in the past, but if you read the ones that ARE public, they got very heated and could have been handled much better. (Thats why most are only handled in the admin section in private now) It was good of you to post about your grievances, its one of the freedoms we have here, I'm not trying to cheat you out of that, I was just pointing out problems with it orginally. yeah, you are right, kevin, and i fully agree with you. i should have tried to make the post title a little more formal, but you have to understand that at the time i was still upset about the whole incident so it was hard for me to try to give these idiots a name other than 'trolls.' obviously, this probably should have been written when i was feeling calm, but unfortunately i'm the type that just has to spit it out when i feel like it otherwise it drives me the nuts for the whole day. i apologize that the post title was indeed offensive and i will keep that in mind in future.

and again, at the time, i couldn't think clearly (typing the first post up took me a little more than an hour to finish) and it didn't occur to me that i should send this to Mikey instead of making it public. actually, that idea never really occured to me until you mentioned it. i just assumed since we have discussed behavioral issues in open forums in the past, that it was okay to post this in general discussions. i suppose i should have been more cautious.

Just to touch on this issue, when I am on, I tolerate the normal stupidity inherent in a gaming server, but only to a point. If anyone, regardless if I know them or not, if theyre WW or not, starts spewing racism, then I will go off on them, that is one thing I will not stand, period. I usually give them one warning, and then I ban them.

I also think that people reading this forum will take affront to the title and repeated use of the word "troll." Compare the way 402 responded about dedicated servers on MW2 to this issue, its basically the same. I understand you were trying to be tactful, but this post could have been worded a little more precisely. I am not yelling at you or anything along those lines, just pointing out that people might be annoyed at the way you posted this.

I think it would have been a much better idea to send this to Mikey in a PM which in turn would allow him to put this up in the admin section before making it public.

However, to stop digressing from the original issue, I agree with many of your points and I do not like people who ruin the atmosphere we try to make here either, but there is a fine line that everyone must walk before it is beyond what we all can universally consider normal reactions to the game. I know I can get quite irratible when I am getting ripped apart, but I don't cross that line, see where I am going with this?

Nevertheless, I do not think that this post evaluating the issue should have been posted in the condition that it is in. A title that wouldn't offend people would have been preferable to me, (Like "What are we doing to prevent Racial/Derogatory Remarks or behavior on our Servers?) even though I can see that you tried to use some euphemisms to make it sound better, which I appreciate.

thank you for inputs, Helium, Pooh and Commander. this problem bugged me a lot because i love playing on WW because of the friendly atmosphere and it upsets me some people are willing to ruin the atmosphere just to get a kick out of it. i'll remember to take screens in the future encounters with one.

I don't care if we have 2 black ppl on the server and they are calling each other the "n" word. Just because you are a certain race doesn't give you the right to use words like that. Not on this server anyway. This person should have been banned. That's my opinion. I would have banned him in a heart beat.

I take the other kind of bitching like this: Does this person make me want to stop playing on our server? If yes, I tell him to stop. If he doesnt-I kick him. If he comes back and starts up again-I ban him.

Free speech doesnt come into play when you are not paying for the server. This server, and this clan, was created so we could have fun. If a troll wants to suck the fun out of it then he should leave-or be thrown out on his ass.

yesterday, all day long, i was torn between posting about this issue or just letting it go. i usually try to not make a big fuss about other players, but this particular issue has been building up frustration inside and i can't hold it inside anymore. i have to let it all out before i go crazy. this will be a LONG post so please bear with me...

there are trolls everywhere you go - forums, game servers, discussion boards, comment section in news articles, Hogwarts, etc. people that are smart enough know better not to take them seriously. however, some trolls take the form of immature children that love to attack others with swear words and racial slurs. what i want to focus on is these trolls in particular. this type of troll swears at people if they kill him or if he is just having a bad game. sometimes he will add in racial slurs to go with his swear words o let the others know how pissed of he is. while we should try not to give a damn about these trolls just like we would any other trolls, the things they say should NOT be ignored. why? the chat system in WaW is public chat. everyone can see the chat. whatever a troll says, all players can see. even if you try not to pay attention to it, your eyes naturally go to where the chat is, what with the recon map being there and all.

now, we could just sit back and let this idiot spew out garbage, and life still moves on. but what if this f---tard drops an N-bomb and there are black people playing? yes, race card has been overplayed for too long but racism is still racism. and yes, those black people may not give a shit if they are called with the N-word. nevertheless, one of the console messages of WW was/is (can't remember the last time i saw this) "respect others and have fun." racism absolutely goes against the first part of that message. so, you may be wondering, why do i, the creepy asian living up north, give a shit about this? well, i encountered another one of these trolls yesterday and after that, all i could say was, "i've had it with these fothermucking trolls on this fothermucking game." but then came the dilemma: what kidn of a f---ing hypocrite am i to point out these trolls' wrong doings and act all high and mighty when i am just as whiny and offensive as them? if anything, posting about them will raise questions about my gaming ethics and it would just look like a pig covered in mud laughing at another pig covered in shit. however, this isn't about me. this is about the other players playing on WW to have fun. so i am posting this now.

so here's what happened, if i remember correctly - i have a terrible memory FYI (btw, i won't say the troll's name but if you want, i'll give him up) : i was just playing WaW on WW as usual. i had a good sleep and i was in a good mood. i noticed there was this one player who kept typing "Dead" periodically, and i assume he typed it every time he got a kill. that was kind of spamming but no harm was being done so i just ignored him. then, a few rounds later, he showed his true colors. in that round, i managed to get a few kills off of him. next thing i know, he's swearing at me just because i killed him a few times. i know when one is joking and when one is not. this idiot was clearly about to go ape shit on me. anyways, i just told him to watch his language and calm down. but he continued on with his rage, and occasionally adding in "Dead" once in a while. he dropped the F-bomb, called me names, etc (i forgot exactly what words were used)

he kept going and going but then he dropped the N-bomb. i told him that he just crossed the line and i warned him that such a behavior is not tolerated. of course, like any good troll would do, he defended himself by claiming he was black (i call that BS) it was a ridiculous claim and reason so i explained to him, while there may not be a black player present, it still wasn't comfortable to hear. again, this troll ignored me and continued on, so i warned him again and this time i threatened to take screens and report him. surprisingly he quieted down for a little while. oops, spoke too soon. as if he didn't say enough insults already, he added in another one: faggot. and not just a faggot, but, and i quote, "faaaaggottttt." i didn't take screens and just gave him his last warning. at the time, i didn't want to take screens because: 1. the troll seemed to be very young (e.g. a 12-year-old) so why bother, 2. admins have better things to do than dealing with a 12-year-old troll, and 3. the aforementioned dilemma. now that i think about it, i probably should have taken screens, but i digress. eventually, i managed to shut him out (note: he didn't shut up) and he eventually left. all that was left for me was frustration and feeling of stupidity for attempting to deal with a troll.

THIS IS JUST AN ASIDE: he wasn't the first troll of the day though. yesterday, before this troll came on, there was another troll who just randomly asked if we (me, HKD2FATPIG (sp?), Fyrion, etc) thought we were good at this game. Then he claimed that he was so good that he gets paid to play the game. He boasted about how good he is, having played promod on COD4. The 'pro' told us that none of us were good and that he boasted that he was the best despite having just started playing. The 'pro' also complained how there were too many campers in WaW as if there was none in COD4 promod (i don't know what that is, so i am not sure if that's true or not) i'm bringing this troll up because we all know there was one certain he-who-must-not-be-named that got banned for hacking, but also for acting in a similar way to this. so, i suppose similar actions should be imposed on such a troll.

anyways, (ugh my fingers are tired) what i'm trying to get across is that i am getting sick of these trolls spamming, whining, cursing and insulting other players, and not getting into problems when they sould be. i'm not saying we should run this server like a bunch of Nazis because we all know that's just a f---ing terrible idea. i would love to see a clear set of rules and consequences if the rules are broken, so that i'm not getting myself worked up much ado about nothing. right now, i feel like i'm overreacting to these trolls, but i also feel that it's not right for them to be allowed to act like the way they do. please forgive me if i'm making a big deal out of this, and erase this post if you find it unncessary, but i had a lot on my mind and i had to get some out.
